Blackbox and Malware attacks have been happening on SelfServ Series, where access through the fascia has been obtained via hole cutting, or prying off a blanking plate, allowing criminals to pass their hand inside and depress the 2 latches holding the front screen into position. Once these latches are operated, the front screen drops out, allowing greater access to the ATM’s USB ports and cabling.
A solution to prevent this form of attack is the Screen-Bloc, that simply covers over both latches preventing ease of operation to the criminal, whilst still allowing engineers to use the latches for their intended purpose.
